Let me introduce myself: My cycling life

Hi there! It’s Valentina. I’m a beginner cyclist from Chile but currently living in Canada. I’ve been cycling for 2 years now and I’ve decided to set up some cycling goals for myself this year!

So far, I’m racing in the Netherlands at the LTD Gravel Fest at the end of April, and I’m doing a 4 days stage race in Iceland at the Arna Westfjords Way Challenge in June.

These goals require quite a lot of preparation since I’ve never really trained seriously or joined any cycling clubs. So about a month ago, I started training with a cycling coach from Cyclingwolf (they are based in Chile) and I’m working with Blueprint Nutrition to learn how to fuel my body before and during the races!

Join me as I document my journey!

Cycling is in the Family

I would say I come from a family that loves cycling. I grew up watching my grandfather cycling to work – he was a construction worker, so he would carry all his heavy tools on his bike. Sometimes he would cycle to the other side of the city, which would take him about 1 to 2 hours.

Tips for a Beginner Cyclist

How to Prepare for your First Long Cycling Ride

Riding for 40 km may be very little to a ton of cyclists, and to me today that distance seems like a very comfortable ride. But when I was just starting cycling three years ago 40 km seemed like a lot.
